Hello. My name is Sheena. I am 28 and live in Texas. My whole life, I have been labelled a medical mystery. From birth, doctors have been trying to figure out the underlying cause for what is going on with my body. Multiple organ systems are involved --I was born with GI tract motility issues, balance issues when walking, autism, hypermobility in my joints, and speech issues.

Tony, my 9 year old son, is the kind of kid that can light up anyone’s day just by being there. It’s like he has this magical joy all wrapped up in a calm little package that people gravitate to. I just love how he can start laughing about the littlest thing and then have all of us rolling on the floor laughing with him...

She wasn't reaching her milestones so her pediatrician wanted her to be seen by specialists. Madison also had to go to therapy to learn how to do things.

Imagine on a warm sunny day, you are walking on the beach, your body warms up but your body doesn't sweat to cool itself down. It is Congenital Insensitivity to Pain with Anhydrosis (CIPA).
